WHo doesn’t know the FreeCreditReport.com song ? In case you don’t watch an ad here
After 3 years, the company behind the song, Experian, is moving away from just credit reports and more focusing on credit scores. To go along with this shift, they are starting a new campaign.
As part of the new campaign, Experian is holding live auditions in three cities—New York, Chicago, and Los Angeles—to select bands that will compete online for the grand prize. On May 20, Experian will open the search to other bands through online submissions; consumers will get to vote for their favorites. Ultimately, four finalists will be chosen and unveiled at the MLB All-Star Game on July 13. Each of the final bands will get its own TV spot during the game, per Experian. The winning band will be announced in early August, and will appear at the MTV Music Awards in September.
The effort also includes a social media component, which, according Moloney, will play a major role in building buzz for the new band. Experian has created Facebook and Twitterpages, and is putting the entire campaign on YouTube once the ads become available. Additionally, a character named Rody Jack will have a presence on Twitter and Facebook to update consumers on the band search.

The Facebook group I’m With COCO (Fan page supporting late night TV host Conan O’Brien) organized rallies to support The Tonight Show’s Conan O’Brien in Los Angeles, New York, Chicago and Seattle today.
Artist Mike Mitchell, who designed the now almost iconic group image, has been tweeting about the I’m with COCO rally all day, with tweets and twitPics. You can check it out at http://twitter.com/ImWithCoco
The L.A. crowd is assembled right outside the studio where Conan and crew tape The Tonight Show, and they’re accompanied by stuntman Steven Ho, who was one of Conan’s first guests on the show. He made a YouTube video to promote the movement. The group has more than 300,000 fans.
The protesters are using signs courtesy of Signazon featuring the I’m With COCO image. The Facebook event page for the LA event has 1,600 confirmed guests and just over 1,000 maybes. Chicago’s event: 549 confirmed, 481 maybes. That’s a mighty impressive turnout for a show host who’s already definitely out of a job for now
Are you with COCO??

Atari will help the Weinstein Co. make “Project Runway” a little more realistic for fans with a videogame version set to bow next year.
Series host Heidi Klum and fashion expert Tim Gunn are expected to be involved in the game, but details are still being worked out. Sponsors that are integrated into the series may also appear in the game.
The licensing deal calls for a series of “Project Runway” games to be created, with the first to launch on Nintendo’s Wii, which will utilize the console’s Wii Remote Controller and Balance Board.
First game hits store shelves next spring.
The game will largely follow of the format of the TV show, with players competing as aspiring fashion designers and presented with different challenges as they create designs and outfit models with hair, makeup and accessories. Players can then become the model and strut their creations down the runway using the Wii Balance Board or take on the role of a fashion photographer and document their designs.

With the new season of Dexter just around the corner, what better way to get fans excited then with a new slew of promotional items. Capitalizing on Dexter’s obsession with keeping a record of all his victims, via a catalog of slides with a drop of blood from each kill, Showtime has created this nifty coaster set which resembles his collection. I know this is one promo item I just have to have while I count down to Season 4 premiering on September 27th!

Move over cable TV!! The Internet is taking small steps towards becoming a true cable replacement. TV streaming site Hulu will be offering a live stream of a Dave Matthews Band concert on June 1—the site’s first-ever live music concert. While the site has previously streamed certain live events, such as the 2008 presidential debates, the Dave Matthews Band concert marks the beginning of live-streamed entertainment, online.
The live concert will begin at 9:00 pm ET on June 1 at Hulu.com. Because of the partnership, Hulu will begin offering various music videos leading up to the show, and after the concert is over, the site will continue offering on-demand streaming access.
More and more people are moving towards watching videos online, so this is definitely a trend to watch. Will you be tuning in to the free concert??

Break out those retro 3-D glasses everyone, because DreamWorks Animation and Pepsi’s SoBe beverages are teaming up with NBC and Intel Corp. to create a 3-D ad that will appear at the end of the second quarter during the Superbowl.
This eye-popping commercial interruption will include not only a trailer for the upcoming DreamWorks film “Monsters vs. Aliens” but also an ad for SoBe Life Water that features the popular SoBe lizards, which appeared during the game in 2008, alongside NFL stars and characters from the movie. NBC is encouraging viewers to keep their glasses for an episode of their sitcom “Chuck” that can be viewed in 3-D the next day.
Intel has produced more than 125 million pairs of 3-D glasses, which can be found at retail displays in grocery stores, drug stores and other retail venues beginning in early January. They will be free to consumers, who can also call 800-646-2904 to obtain a pair.
(Note - I called and they told me to call back in 2 weeks!)
