In honor of Father’s Day, Papa John’s, in partnership with All Pro Dad, is awarding one lucky winner a FREE YEAR OF PIZZA via a Twitter campaign. To enter, people must sum up their dad’s character in 140 characters or less using the hashtag #AllProPapa.

In addition, Papa John’s will be making a donation to All Pro Dad, a national, non-profit organization dedicated to helping men become better fathers. For every gift card purchased online during the month of June, Papa John’s will donate $1 to All Pro Dad (up to $30,000).

Mini vs. Porsche!!

Start your engines racers! Mini is challenging the Porsche 911 Camera S to a race in two weeks against its Cooper S model. Mini has started a Facebook campaign to promote the hype of the possible race which now has over 100,000fans. Porsche has not committed to the race but is taking it under serious consideration. Mini has even gone as far as calling at Porsche in a full page spread in The New York Times(see image on right).

Porsche is one of the most well-known luxury car manufactures and has an incredible racing record. People are hoping that the incentive of adding one more win to their record will convince Porsche to participate.  Porsche 911 Camera S would be favored to win due to is extremely more powerful engine which has some people questioning Mini’s motives. This would bring much attention to both car manufacturers and could possibly benefit both companies.

FREE DONUTS!!

Tomorrow is national donut day, and in celebration of this glorious holiday, Dunkin’ Donuts is offering every guest a free donut of their choice, with the purchase of any beverage.

Also on National Donut Day, Dunkin’ Donuts will announce the winner of its second annual “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut” contest. From nearly 90,000 donut creations submitted online, a dozen finalists traveled to Dunkin’ Donuts University inBraintree, Massachusetts earlier this month to compete in a bake-off competition before Dunkin’ Donuts’ culinary team and company leaders.  One of the 12 finalists will win a $12,000 grand prize and have their winning donut sold in participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants throughout the country.

Today’s little history lesson: National Donut Day, held the first Friday of June each year, was founded by the Chicago Salvation Army in 1938 to honor the women who served donuts to soldiers in World War I.

So be sure to hit up DD on your way to the office tomorrow morning. (Double chocolate with sprinkles is the way to go).

Dunkin’ Donuts Reveals Top Dozen Finalists

As a follow up to our post in February, Dunkin’ Donuts just announced the top 12 finalists in their “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut” contest exclusively to Mashable today. Die hard donut fans can cast their vote online for their favorite creation between now and May 3rd. The final winner will receive $12,000 and their donut will be sold at participating Dunkin’ Donut shops. I don’t know about you, but I’m casting my vote for Chris W.’s S’morgasbord which combines all the classic flavors of a square S’more into a delightful donut treat! Mmmmmmm.

To celebrate this upcoming milestone, Apple has created a countdown to it’s 10 billionth song download. For each song purchased, consumers will automatically be entered in a contest to win an iTunes Gift Card, with a limit of 25 entries per day per person or iTunes account.

The 10 billionth song download (or first non-purchase entry after the 9,999,999,999th song download) will be the big winner of a $10,000 iTunes gift card!

Dunkin’ Contest Kicks Off 60th Anniversary

Dunkin’ Donuts year-long 60th anniversary celebration kicks off with the return of the “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut” contest, along with some help from JetBlue airlines. For the second year in a row, the company is inviting donut lovers to channel their imagination and love for donuts for the chance to win $12,000 and have their personal donut creation sold at participating Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants nationwide. This year, JetBlue has signed on to be the official airline of the “Create Dunkin’s Next Donut” contest and will offer free airfare to contest finalists flying out of JetBlue-serviced cities to the bake-off.

Visitors to www.DunkinDonuts.com/donut can create a virtual donut masterpiece from a variety of donut flavors, shapes, toppings and fillings through March 8. New interactive elements have been added to the contest Web site, providing entrants with more options to save their creations and share them with friends and family.

Doodle for Google!

Google announced our third annual Doodle 4 Google contest in the U.S. Google doodles today. Since 2008, Doodle 4 Google has given K-12 kids the opportunity to create their own logo and have it displayed on the Google homepage for hundreds of millions of users to enjoy for a day.

In addition to the winner’s art appearing on Google.com on May 27, 2010, they’ll also receive a $15,000 college scholarship, a laptop computer and a $25,000 technology grant for their school.

This year’s theme is “If Could Do Anything, I Would…” and it’s all about pushing the limits, dreaming big, and seeing what you can accomplish in life. When coming up with inspiration for this year’s contest, we turned to some of our very own Googlers, including Ed Lu, a former astronaut.
