A New Way To Promote Peace

Posted by kcampbell on 25th May 2010

How many times a week do you get Chinese take out? I know in my family it’s definitely once but probably twice. Even though I enjoy this food quite frequently I have little knowledge about the culture and society it comes from. Amnesty International has started to use chopstick inspired pencils to increase awareness about the human rights violations in China. Instead of directions for using chopsticks, these packages include directions for writing letters to the Chinese government asking them to stop torture. These pencils are not only original and creative but they help a great charity promote their message.

StillerStrong

Posted by nfarsun on 9th December 2009

Ben Stiller is out with a new charity campaign called StillerStrong and is looking to drive awareness to it through social media. He’s called out Lance Armstrong, Owen Wilson and just recently Ryan Seacrest to help out and just “retweet”.

Part of the strategy naturally involves viral videos starring the actor, there have been 3 to date. Check it out below, as it plays off Stiller’s funny side, but in reality is rooted in a great cause. You can help support by following Ben Stiller on Twitter (@redhourben) and retweeting any of the videos on the site or his messages along with the #stillerstrong hashtag.
