Posted by nfarsun on 19th November 2008

To celebrate its 20th year since creation of the “pump” sneaker, Reebok launched their first pop-up store in NYC. The store will be open until December 14th, and each week will feature and release a new “NYC inspired and themed” sneaker for a limited edition line. The store is vibrant and bright, taking on a 1980’s theme decor. The store will also feature clothing by well known guest designers. The sneaker featured in the post is the “court victory pump”. Nike Air Forces or Chuck Taylors?

Posted by nfarsun on 13th November 2008

Your clothes may say more about you than you think. The Wall Street Journal posted an article that describes how young workers are rebelling against standard business attire in offices around the country. Us U-30’s express our style through our carefully picked labels, as we know it partially defines who we are.

“Young workers are replacing traditional business dress with their own complex sets of rules and subliminal messages. Their choices among brand-name items are meant to communicate substance. Rather than Gucci versus Allen Edmonds, for instance, the choice may involve Nike Air Force versus Chuck Taylors. (Read: urban vs. surfer.) “

This may be hard for older generations to understand, because when they grew up there were “fashion rules” that said you couldn’t wear white after labor day and buying a sweater set actually meant you had to wear those two pieces together. They see our choices as either extremely informal, or provocative and young. Click here to read the complete WJS article about the younger workers’ wardrobe (and how to decode the U-30’s style!).

Live Notoriously Well with Jose….Cuervo

Posted by nfarsun on 11th November 2008

The Jose Cuervo brand has put forth a book “Living Notoriously Well” to help mankind live… notoriously well. The book is available for viewing online, with invaluable thoughts, ruminations, and directives, all designed to make you more charming, and better able to make paranoia work for you. What you won’t find is how to write thank-you notes, or table manners. A excerpt from the site/book is below.

Tightening the Ornate Belt or Living Notoriously Well on a Budget

Whilst standing on the veranda of his abode, credit card statement in hand, a man Living Notoriously Well may find himself asking the following questions about his financial predicament.

“Was it the Faberge egg omelets?”
“The diamond-encrusted cell phone?”

But alas, a man Living Notoriously Well is always rich in wit. And though his bank account is anemic, his mental coffers still brim with shrewd schemes.

And thus a few suggestions to help you navigate the fog of today’s financial climate:

Date a cougar
Without the typical responsibilities of a woman her age, Ms. Gurrr is on the prowl. Furrow through the bobble-headed vixens grazing the bar floor and you’ll find the cougar sitting alone. One gaze into her hungry eyes your fortunes have been restored.

Call in Favors
Whether it’s a friend nursed back to health from a broken heart, or a dispute settled between rival diplomats, a man Living Notoriously Well should never hesitate to summon the obligations of those he’s aided.

Collectibles
One man’s trash is another man’s treasure. There’s a world of nerds out there who are willing to pay top dollar for your Sci-fi trilogy action figures.

Posted by nfarsun on 6th November 2008

Carnival Cruise Lines tried to set a Guinness world record last Sunday in Philadelphia with the world’s largest pinata. Unfortunately, police stopped the stunt before a wrecking ball hit the steel enforced six story high pinata to it to unleash the 8,000 pounds of candy.
