Who can forget the catchy doublemint gum commercial jingles?? Time to bring back the classics - with a new twist.
Wrigley’s gum has recently teamed up with hip-hop stars Chris Brown, and Ne-Yo, along with TV show Dancing with the Stars champion, Julieanne Hough to re-invent the songs to be used in TV, radio and other marketing efforts for the brands under Wrigley’s - Doublemint, Juicy Fruit, and Big Red.
Chris Brown’s summer smash hit single, “Forever” already features the lyrics “double your pleasure, double your fun” throughout the song and he is seen unwrapping a piece of gum at the begining of the music video. Product placement at its best.
The campaign officially launches in August, with much more to follow in 2009. Exclusive concert events have already taken place and engaged users.

The TV Show Gossip Girls has been marked by parents and critics as “A parents worst nightmare”. Instead of fighting back, or toning down the content of the show, they’ve decided to use these words and negative reviews to their advantage. They’ve turned it into a marketing campaign to promote their 2nd season.
Racy ads appear with headlines straight from parents’ mouths and critics reviews - such as “Mind-Blowingly Inappropriate” and “A Nasty Piece of Work”. And of course, their target is eating it right up. The marketing boss for CW, the network that airs the show, says the ads are out their to reach and talk to their target in a way they would appreciate. Others call it an act of desperation.

Bold move? Or crossing the line? What do you think?
